When you add turnip greens to stoups, stews or simply sautéed them, you may be eating the same leafy green as ancient Romans and early Greeks! Turnip greens tend to be sweeter and are an easy to use green that cooks quickly! https://t.co/RyaayFJEJL TandT_Produce photo

We’ve all had to do a cautious taste test of a jalapeño or other spicy pepper to help decide how much to throw into a soup or salsa. We broke down four of the most common hot cooking peppers to help you out:

Anaheim: Usually has a Scoville heat index of around 1,000, some varieties can have a rating as high as 5,000. Relative to the rest of this list, this pepper is not very hot.

Jalapeño: Their Scoville heat index is around 5,000, however, they can range anywhere from 2,000 to 8,000.

Serrano: Similar to the jalapeño in its look, but this pepper is much hotter. On the Scoville heat index, it can be between 10,000 and 25,000. As a rule of thumb, the smaller the Serrano pepper, the hotter it will taste.

Habanero: Of hot peppers that are commonly used, the habanero is recognized as the hottest. The Scoville heat index for the habanero chili can range from 150,000 to 350,000.

We gotta say that these are “in cherry condition”! You know its summer when these deliciously sweet and juicy red fruits are making their way into everything from cocktails and appetizers to side dishes and desserts!

Cherries are best paired with herbs like sage, chives, and verbena; dairy products like sweet cream and ricotta cheese; and with meats like pork and beef especially when black pepper is added.

FYI: Be wary when baking cherries with alkalies (such as baking powder and milk) because a chemical reaction can occur, causing a blue discoloration to the baked product! #whenfreshmatters #tandtproduce

Collard greens are famously delicious when cooked with smoked meats, bacon or sausage in particular. They have a strong, vegetal flavor and a remarkably hearty texture. They don't break down easily, so they are good to use when you want a green that doesn't lose its shape and texture. #whenfreshmatters #tandtproduce

Kitchen Tip: For the best flavor, leave your berries on the counter at room temp for two hours before enjoying them. #whenfreshmatters #tandtproduce
