RINGGOLD, GA (September 15, 2020) – We are proud to announce that our very own Director of Operations, Tanner Buchanan, has been selected as a 2020 recipient of the Frieda Rapoport Caplan Family Business Scholarship.
The scholarship was established to expand opportunities for representatives from family businesses, like T&T Produce, to attend United Fresh’s Washington Public Policy Conference, which is the produce industry’s premier political advocacy event. Scholarship recipients will have an opportunity to network with produce industry leaders, as well as gain an understanding of the political process and how to advocate for their priority issues.
Tanner will bring extensive knowledge and a distinct perspective to the table after growing up interlaced in his father’s 30+ year produce company. “I’m eager to bring the experiences I’ve had in my family’s business to key leaders in the industry. Vocalizing concerns and issues seen in our perspective is the first step in preparing a solid path for the next generation.” Tanner notes that his appreciation for advocacy in the produce industry comes from “community and family values that need to be exhibited beyond just our region.”
